Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 20, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how bernsoftware (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information in connection with the mobile applications we develop and publish on the Apple App Store (each, the “App”, together the “Apps”). It applies to all of our Apps unless an App provides its own separate policy.
We designed our Apps to be privacy-first. As a general rule, we do not require you to create an account, and we do not sell your personal data. Some free Apps show ads; section 4 explains exactly what that involves.
1. Summary
- No account required. You can use the core features without signing up or giving us your name.
- We do not store your photos or scans on our servers. Content you submit (such as a photo) is processed to return a result and is not retained by us afterwards.
- AI processing. Some features send your input to trusted third-party AI providers solely to generate your result.
- We do not use your content to train AI models.
- Ads in some free Apps. Some Apps show ads served by Google AdMob. Your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA) is used only if you allow tracking when iOS asks; if you do not, ads are non-personalised. See section 4.
- Subscriptions. Purchases are handled by Apple, and RevenueCat tells the App whether your subscription is active.
2. Information We Process
2.1 Content you provide
Depending on the App, you may capture or upload photos or images, or enter text (for example, a label, a meal, an object, or a prompt). This content is used only to perform the feature you requested (e.g., scanning, identification, generation, analysis).
2.2 Camera and photo library
If a feature needs your camera or photo library, iOS will ask for your permission first. We access this content only at your direction and only to provide the requested feature. We do not browse, upload, or retain your library.
2.3 Purchases and subscriptions
In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple. We never receive or store your payment card details. We may receive Apple’s anonymized transaction status to unlock features you purchased.
2.4 Diagnostics and usage
We may use Apple’s built-in tools to understand crashes and aggregate usage. We do not use this data to identify you. Apps that show ads or measure our ad campaigns also share some usage, device and diagnostic data with the partners described in section 4; that data is handled as described there.
3. How AI Features Work
Several Apps use artificial intelligence to deliver results. When you use such a feature, your input (e.g., an image or text) is transmitted securely to third-party AI/ML service providers only to compute your result. We instruct these providers not to use your content to train their models, and we do not retain your input on our own servers after the result is returned.
AI results may be inaccurate or incomplete and are provided for informational purposes only. They are not professional, medical, legal, financial, or safety advice. Always use your own judgment and consult a qualified professional where appropriate.
4. Ads, Tracking and Subscriptions
4.1 Ads in free Apps (Google AdMob)
Some free Apps show ads served by Google AdMob. To serve an ad, Google receives information such as your IP address (from which it may infer your approximate, coarse location), device and app information, which ads were shown or tapped, and diagnostic data about ad performance. Google uses this information to show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, prevent fraud and report ad results to us.
4.2 Your tracking choice
An App that shows ads may ask, through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt, whether you allow tracking. Only if you allow it can the App and its ad partners use your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA) to personalise ads and measure them across apps and websites owned by other companies. If you do not allow it, iOS does not give the IDFA to the App or to Google, and the App asks Google for non-personalised ads, which are based on the App you are using and your general location rather than on your activity elsewhere. You can change your choice at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
4.3 Subscriptions (RevenueCat)
Apps with subscriptions use RevenueCat to check whether your subscription is active and to restore purchases. RevenueCat receives a random app user ID, your purchase history from Apple and basic device information. If you allow tracking, an App may also share the IDFA and the identifier for vendors (IDFV) with RevenueCat so we can see which of our ads led to a subscription.
4.4 Ad measurement (Meta)
Some Apps that we advertise on Facebook and Instagram include the Meta SDK. The SDK, and RevenueCat on our behalf, tell Meta when the App is installed or opened and when a trial or subscription starts, so we can measure our ad campaigns. Meta receives the IDFA only if you allow tracking.
Google, RevenueCat and Meta handle this information under their own privacy policies: how Google uses information from apps that use its services, RevenueCat Privacy Policy and Meta Privacy Policy.
5. Data Retention
We aim to process your content transiently. Inputs you submit for processing are not stored on our servers after your result is delivered. Any content you choose to save remains on your device under your control. Data that ad and subscription partners receive (section 4) is kept under their own retention policies.
6. Third Parties
We rely on a limited set of service providers, which may include:
- Apple — App distribution, in-app purchases, and system services.
- AI / ML API providers — to process your input and return results.
- Cloud / hosting and analytics providers — for delivering the service and aggregate diagnostics.
- Google AdMob — the advertising network that serves ads in some free Apps (section 4.1).
- RevenueCat — subscription status, restoring purchases and subscription attribution (section 4.3).
- Meta — measuring our ad campaigns on Facebook and Instagram, in the Apps that include the Meta SDK (section 4.4).
7. International Transfers
Our providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
8. Children’s Privacy
Our Apps are not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, including encrypted transmission (HTTPS/TLS), to protect information during processing.
10. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights under GDPR and KVKK. Contact us at the address below. You can withdraw your tracking permission at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version will always be available at this page.
